Note:  Chambers shows Albert Lindsley Norris d.  20 Sep 1866,  age 3.  This appears to be a record keeping error as CR135 show Albert Lindsley,  Son of Captain Silas & Nancy (Norris) Lindsley,  d.  20 Sep 1866,  age 3.  Not listed in either the Vail or Parker compilation.].

Lindsley,  Alfred Elmer--6/16--Son of Matthew & Margaret Lindsley,  d.  25 Oct 1841,  age 28 [Ed. Note:  Vail shows Son of Matthew & Abigail Lindsley,  d.  23 Oct 1841,  in 28th year.  CR138,  140 & 168 show Son of Matthew Gelston & Abigail (Beers) Lindsley,  b.  9 Jan 1814,  m.  Evaline Mulford,  Daughter of Sevalon & Electa (_______) Mulford,  18 Jan 1837,  d.  23 Oct 1841,  age 28.  No children found in The Combined Registers.  The name of Alfred's Wife also appears as "Eveline."]

Lindsley,  Ann--V--Wife of Major Joseph Lindsley,  d.  8 Dec 1779,  in 38th year.  [Ed. Note:  See Lindsley,  Joseph,  Major].

Lindsley,  Benjamin--24/35--b.  22 Feb 1731,  d.  8 Nov 1815.  [Ed. Note:  CR135, 311,  & 313 show m.  Sarah Kitchell,  Daughter of Joseph Kitchell,  15 Jan 1759. Benjamin & Sarah are shown parents of nine i.e.,  Rachel,  Joseph,  Jonathan,  Hannah,  Jane,  Mary,  Timothy,  Elizabeth,  and Latta (Letty).  CR314 show the following from a family Bible, "He was a justice of the peace in Morristown 10 years,  and then resigned;  served as quarter-master under General Washington in the time of the war;  and was Trustee of the Parish for 30 years.  He had ten children."].

Lindsley,  Charity Hains--31/22--Wife of Junia Lindsley,  d.  13 Jun 1752,  age 22.  [Ed. Note:  CR86,  93, & 139 show Charity Hains of Mendham was 1st Wife of Junia  Lindsley,  m.  12 Mar 1750.  They were parents of Charity Lindsley,  Baptized 7 Jul 1752,  m. Aaron Goble 30 Jan 1772,  and d.  4 Jun 1795,  age 44].

Lindsley,  Charles Newton--V--Son of Joseph M. & Phebe Lindsley,  d.  26 Mar 1832,  age 15 Months 23 days.  [Ed. Note:  CR139 show Joseph M.  & Phebe (Dickerson) Lindsly with four children born between 1828 and 1838,  but none shown had the name Charles Newton].

Lindsley,  "Child of Ira"--Reinterred at Evergreen 23 Nov 1866 Location F-35--[Ed. Note:  CR137 show a  Henry Connet Lindsley,  only child of Ira & Rachel (------) Lindsley,  Baptised 2 Jul 1814,  which could be the same individual.  Not listed in either the Vail or Parker compilation.  "Child of Ira" is how the listing was shown by Chambers].

Lindsley,  "Children"--Reinterred at Evergreen 23 Nov 1866 Location F-35--[Ed. Note:  The date of reinterment shown by Chambers suggest a relationship with others reinterred that date.  See Lindsley,  "Child of Ira,"  and Lindsley,  Joseph]. 

Lindsley,  Daniel--30/13--d.  14 Aug 1777,  age 77 years 6 months.  [Ed. Note:  CR137 &  138 show Son of John Lindsly,  m.  Grace _______,  and they were parents of five i.e.,  Moses,  Joseph,  Zenas,  Elizabeth,  and Susanna.  Elected an Elder in 1754 and Deacon in 1765].

Lindsley,  Elizabeth--30/11--Widow of John Lindsley and prior Widow of John Ford,  Esq.,  Mother of Colonel Jacob Ford,  Sr., d.  21 Apr 1772,  age 91.  [Ed. Note:  CR76 show Elizabeth Freeman,  b.  in March 1681,  "in the city of Axford,  Old England,  came into Philadelphia when there was but one house in it _______ and into this province when she was but one year and a half old."  She 1st m.  at Woodbridge 13 Dec 1701 to John Ford,  Son of William & Sarah (Dingley) Ford.  John d.  prior to 1724.  Elizabeth & John were parents of two i.e.,  Jacob,  Samuel,  and possibly Experience.  Later research, see particularly The Descendants Of Andrew Ford Of Weymouth,  Massachusetts,  compiled by Elizabeth Cobb Stewart,  Capital City Press,  Montpelier,  Vermont (1968), which, at Pages 20-24, calls into question the previously held ancestry of John Ford.  Based on property records and wills,  John Ford  is shown to be the Son of James Ford of Weymouth. Also in Ancestors & Descendants of Lewis Ross Freeman with related families,  Patty B. Myers relates numerous accounts of the drowning mentioned above and suggests that the drowning Father was one John Freeman,  whose Widow Ann was left to raise their family.  Following the death of John Ford,  Elizabeth 2nd m.  John Lindly.  No children found in The Combined Registers for this marriage.  See Lindsley,  John].

Lindsley,  Ephraim--NL Segment 31--d.  26 Mar 1824,  age 71.  [Ed. Note:  CR87,  137,  139, 293 & 314 show Son of Junia Lindsly and his 2nd Wife Hannah Nutman,  Baptized 2 Nov 1753,  m.  Martha Goble,  Daughter of Simeon & Abigail (Conger) Goble.  Ephraim & Martha were parents of six i.e.,  Sarah,  Hiram,  David,  Ruth,  Simeon,  and Abby].

Lindsley,  Evaline Mulford--6/15--Wife of Alfred Elmer Lindsley,  d.  30 Apr 1853,  age 35.  [Ed. Note:  See Lindsley,  Alfred Elmer].

Lindsley,  Ezra--31/16--Son of Mahlon & Eunice Lindsley,  d.  23 Jul 1823,  age 11.  [Ed. Note:  CR136 show Mahlon Lindsley m.  Eunice Tompkins 27 Apr 1809.  No children found in The Combined Registers,  which may be the result of Mahlon's d. 1 (or 13) Oct 1816 and Eunice's Dismissal to New Vernon in 1833]. 

Lindsley,  Grace--30/12--Wife of Daniel Lindsley,  d.  12 Sep 1777,  age 69.  [Ed. Note:  Parker  shows originally copied age 79.  CR138 show.  See Lindsley,  Daniel].

Lindsley,  Hiram--19/9--d.  31 Aug 1831,  age 53.  [Ed. Note:  CR137, 175A, 264, & 314 show Son of Ephraim & Martha (Goble) Lindsley,  b.  27 Feb 1780,  1st m. Phebe Wood,  Daughter of Samuel & Rebekah (Munson) Wood,  5 Jun 1802. Phebe d.  17 Feb 1803,  age 23.  Hiram 2nd m.  Abigail Oliver,  Daughter of John & Sarah (Pruden) Oliver,  17 Feb 1808.  No children found for either marriage in The Combined Registers].

Lindsley,  Irene--30/1--Wife of Francis Lindsley,  b.  14 Sep 1803,  d.  26 Apr 1846.  [Ed. Note:  CR136 show Irene (L.) m. Francis Lindsley,  Son of Daniel & Rhoda (_______) Lindsley.  No  children found In The Combined Registers].

Lindsley,  John--30/10--d.  27 Oct 1749,  age 82.  [Ed. Note:  Oldest person identified in the Graveyard.  CR137 & 314 show Son of Francis Linle (Lindly,  Lindsly), b. 1666, "was the third male child born in Newark,  and as his birthright had a tract of land given to him by the Society." CR137 & 138 show John Lindsly and his 1st Wife,  whose name is not recorded in The Combined Registers,  had two sons i.e.,  John and Daniel.  John 2nd m. Elizabeth (Freeman) Ford, Widow of John Ford. See Lindsley,  Elizabeth.  CR137 show  John was elected Elder 1 Mar 1748.  CR314 show John's brother Jonathan "gave land on which 1st Church stands, and built the first Meeting House"].

Lindsley,  John,  Esq.--31/19--d.  2 Mar 1750,  age 56.  [Ed. Note:  CR137 & 138 show Son of John Lindsly and his 1st Wife,  whose name is not recorded in The Combined Registers,  b.  1693-4, m.  Sarah ______,  d.  9 Mar 1750,  age 56.  John & Sarah were parents of ten i.e.,  Stephen,  Junia,  Caleb,  John,  Levi,  Demas,  Phillip,  Phebe,  Hannah,  & Silenus.  All but Silenus were mentioned in John's Will dated 1750].

Lindsley,  John,  Captain--30/5--d.  10 Sep 1784,  age 56.  [Ed. Note:  CR138 & 314 show John Lindly (Lindsly),  Son of John & Sarah (______) Lindly,  1st m.  Joanna Hudson,  who d. about 1753.  John & Joanna were parents of Hanna.  John 2nd m.  4 Dec 1755 Sarah Rainer.  John & Sarah were parents of eleven i.e.,  Joanna,  John,  David,  Sarah,  Stephen,  Silas,  Henry,  Henry,  Phebe,  Elizabeth,  and Azariah.  CR138 reports four children with dates of death of 30 Apr 1777,  11 Jun 1778,  10 Jul 1781,  and 23 Jul 1785,  but no names are shown. CR314 show eight of the eleven children of John & Sarah listed above were mentioned in John's Will dated 7 Sep 1874.  Two more of the eleven children are known to have died prior to the date of the Will i.e.,  in 1769 and earlier in 1784.  The eleventh child Azariah b.  28 Mar 1781 was not mentioned in the Will,  which suggests he was the child who died 10 Jul 1781.  By process of elimination it appears John & Sarah were parents of at least three more children who died as infants or in early childhood for a total of fourteen children.  John  was elected Elder 20 Jun 1769.  Following the death of her Husband,  Sarah became the 3rd Wife of Benjamin Halsey].

Lindsley,  John--NL Segment 29 or 30--d.  7 Oct 1816,  age 59.  [Ed. Note:  CR94 & 138 show John Lindly,  Son of John & Sarah (Rainer) Lindly b.  21 Jul 1758,  m.  Sarah Halsey,  Daughter of Judge Benjamin Halsey & his 1st Wife Sarah Prudden.  John & Sarah were parents of four i.e.,  Anne (also called "Nancy"),  Mary,  John,  and Ephraim.  In addition to being Sarah's Husband,  John was his Wife's Step-Brother i.e.,  the son of Benjamin Halsey's 3rd Wife Sarah (Rainor) Lindsley, Widow of Captain John Lindsley].
