Education & Spiritual Growth for Ages 1 to 100
The Presbyterian Church in Morristown views Christian life as a journey. This journey is both individual and shared with others. Our church offers many opportunities to study, question, affirm and share our beliefs, and to support one another. We continually evaluate the education program and add new programs as needs and interests evolve. To learn about or join any of these groups, please contact Christian Education Director, Alexandra Mead, at email or 973-538-1776.
Adult Education
Programs for adult study include Small Group study and bonding, Bible study, educational seminars, film discussions, book groups and self-improvement classes. Resources are available in our church libraries and online for individual study and theological development, as well.
Young Adults and College Students
While many of our high school students go away for college, we continue to keep in contact with our graduates and minister to them by sending periodic cards, as well as care packages during finals each semester. During breaks and in the summer, there are various opportunities for college students to gather for fellowship. Young adults serve in various areas of our congregation, including committees, in the youth program, and in the adult choirs. There are opportunities throughout the year to gather together as a community.
Children and Youth
The Presbyterian Church in Morristown offers numerous programs for the children and youth of our congregation. Sunday Church School runs from September through May at 9:15 a.m. for ages 2½ years through 8th grade. We offer a Midweek church school program combined with choir and handbell practice on Wednesdays for grades k-8. Middle school (Ekklesia) and high school (Koinonia) students meet weekly for fellowship, study and outreach. Students also participate in our winter weekend retreats, our summer mission service opportunities, and monthly youth events.
Nursery School
Our Nursery School serves over 80 children from the community and has been an essential part of the church for nearly 50 years.
