American Red Cross Volunteer Service Opportunities
The American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey is seeking volunteer assistance in the
following areas:
• The Disaster Action Team (DAT) is looking for volunteers to provide relief to those who
have been affected by disaster. DAT members go to the scene of a fire or other
emergency and offer immediate aid such as food, clothing, shelter and comfort to
disaster victims. DAT members work on a monthly on-call schedule. Schedules are
flexible. New members are trained and will respond with other experienced team
members.
• Drivers are needed for the veterans’ transportation program. Volunteer drivers transport
veterans to medical appointments in Red Cross vehicles. Drivers must be at least 25
years old, have a valid driver’s license, have good physical health and hearing, and be
available weekdays during business hours.
