There is work for you to do. Precisely because you are a beloved child of God there is work for you to do. Your status as God's beloved implies God's confidence in you, God's reliance on you. God has given you responsibilities for your own life and, with your neighbor, responsibility for the life of your community and, with your fellow citizens, responsibility for the life of the nation and, with your fellow human beings, responsibility for the life of the world.
