Project Hope
In 2013, PCM's Project Hope is supporting the work of Foundation for Peace in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Ongoing projects, in partnership with people from local villages and communities, serve the needs of those living in extreme poverty through the building of churches, primary and vocational schools, water supply systems and medical clinics.
In order to meet critical needs in both countries, we need:
300 school desks, tables and chairs of any size. We will pick them up within 150 miles of New York City. Please contact your local schools to ask if they are disposing of furniture. Email Ken to arrange for pick up!
Used cars, trucks and vans that must be less than 5 years old to export. FFP will pay to have them transported to our shipping facility. Email Ken for pick up!
School Furniture and Supplies. Book cases, white boards and markers, office furniture, musical instruments, foldable tables, multivitamins, student needs (notebooks, rulers, markers, etc). No clothing please! Only items in working condition!
The next container will be loaded at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church (39 Bartley Rd, Long Valley, NJ)Saturday, March 16, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you can help on Saturday, please RSVP to Wendy. If you are too far away to provide supplies or help load, please consider sending a check payable to FFP to help cover the cost of the container.
HIV/AIDS Caregiver Kits and School Supplies
for Kenya in 2012
In the spring of 2012, Project Hope began with a church-wide collection for HIV/AIDS Caregiver and School Supply kits used in Kenya by our partner for International Mission, the Foundation for Peace (FFP). The kits were given to volunteer home health care workers who visit families with HIV/AIDS living in slum areas around Nairobi, to children living in Mathare North where FFP is building a church and to the By Grace Children’s Home.
