In 2011, PCM created a Historic Preservation Plan (HPP) , substantially funded through grants from the Morris County Historic Preservation Trust. The HPP sets the basis for structural improvements over ten-years bringing PCM's four main buildings (Chapel, Church, Howard House (former Manse), Parish House) up to safe, manageable standards while preserving their historical significance.
In accordance with the HMP, grants were acquired for the reconstruction of the main chimney at the Parish House; restoration of the brick air shaft behind the Church on the Green; and redoing the flat portion of the Chapel roof; and for restoring the main Chapel roof.
Additional projects in the works: replace slate roofs at the Church, Chapel and Parish House; replace hanging gutters and leaders all buildings; paint wood windows, frames and other wooden elements all buildings; repoint the masonry; repair disintegrating piers in Chapel basement; restore stained glass windows at Parish House.
In accordance with the HPP, we will continue to restore and repair our historic buildings throughout the ten-year period.
